You, the steward are the most important resource of this and any union! Don't let anyone tell you any different. We've all been there, a member comes up to you and says "I want to grieve this!!", and you're left wondering if you should?... is this right?... is there really a grievance here?... Where do I start?

Just start at step 1!

Step 1: How to Investigate
This form is for everyone, read and you'll have an idea of what you are looking for before you file a grievance, remember this is the first step and is the beginning of your investigation. These tips will help you start down the right road of keeping records in order.

Step 2: Investigation Information
Whenever there is discipline involved it is essential for the steward to take as accurate notes as possible. This form will help you make sure you ask the right questions and get the right information. Print this form off before sitting down with management and take notes during your meeting.

Step 3: Grievance Form
So here you are, you have done your investigation and you have determined that a grievance is necessary. By clicking the button on the left you can either prefill the form and print or just print the form off and fill it out manually. Remember if you do infact file a grievance you will need to contact the hall for the appropriate grievance number, and MAKE SURE A COPY OF YOUR PAPERWORK GETS TO YOUR BUSINESS REP!!!

Step 4: Union Timecard
Chances are somewhere along the grievance process you may have spent time performing union duties that need to be billed back to the local. Please fill out this form and either email or fax (780) 483-1609 a copy to the hall for our records.

Step 5: Expense Form
Did you have to travel to the hall for meetings, did you have to stay overnight for an arbitration? If you incurred expenses please fill out this form and get it to the hall with ALL ORIGINAL RECEIPTS. Photocopies will not be accepted. Remember the job's not done until the paperwork is complete.
