
After a long series of hearings and appeals, the Alberta Labour Relations Board has made a final decision that Finning (Canada) violated the Labour Relations Code when it laid off employees from the Parts Distribution Center in 200S.The board has ordered that Finning (Canada) compensate those employees for their lost income from the dale of their layoffs in 2005 to October 20, 2005, when the strike began that year. The Labour Relations Board has also directed that Finning (Canada) deduct from your lost earnings any wages that you earned from other sources during that time, and that we make sure that Employment Insurance is repaid any overpayment if you received El in that period of time.
In order to be eligible for payment, you MUST within 60 days of the date of this letter, contact BOTH Raylene Hyland at Chivers Carpenter (the law firm representing the lAMAW Local99) and also Kamal Kahlon at Finning (Canada) to inform them you would like to make a claim. Contact information is included below. The law firm of Chivers Carpenter will then assist you in finalizing the necessary documentation for making a claim which will include a Statutory Declaration of Income (attached) in which you will list all incomes paid to you in the year 2005.
